If you are like most So7 residents, you have been anxiously awaiting the grand opening of the So7 Bistro. Well, the day is quickly approaching. On September 1st, the So7 Bistro officially opens to the public, so we thought we’d write a quick post to whet your appetite.

If you haven’t heard, the So7 Bistro will be a modern restaurant where traditional French cuisine meets the flavors of the American market. Owner Jean Michel Sakouhi has truly outdone himself with the menu, which will feature seasonal dishes with only the freshest ingredients.

We haven’t had a sneak peek of the interiors yet, but it sounds exceptional—casual, contemporary and remarkably chic. With a fine collection of wines, the So7 Bistro will be the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing lunch or a memorable dinner. And who knows? You might even catch brunch on Sundays.

All of these questions and more will be answered soon enough. In the meantime, don’t forget to stop in for lunch or dinner next week when the So7 Bistro officially opens at 2401 West 7th Street.

Feel free to come back and post your review right here on our blog. We’d love to hear your take on Sakouhi’s latest creation, and you might even recommend a dish or two.

Bon appétit!

You don’t have to walk very far either. That’s because Brownstone, a new Southern-inspired restaurant, is the latest addition to the West 7th district and is within walking distance to So7.

When we say that Brownstone is new, we mean it. The 5,000 square-feet restaurant just opened last week, and already it’s drawing the attention of foodies, critics and So7 residents alike.

In addition to its stellar location, Brownstone has the talent to match. The Executive Chef is none other than Casey Thompson. You may remember Thompson as the runner-up from season three of Bravo’s hit TV show Top Chef.

Known for her ingenuity and ability to pair wines perfectly with dishes, Thompson is considered a rising star on the national culinary scene. Her experience includes serving as the Executive Chef at the ever-popular Asian restaurant Shinsei right here in Dallas. She’s also worked at some of the most well-respected wineries in Napa and Sonoma.

So what kind of fare can you expect from Brownstone? According to their website, the menu “features small plates, heavier fare and a selection of sides that captures the essence of the South’s unique culinary flair with dishes comprised of the freshest regional ingredients ranging from familiar and classic to modern interpretations.”

The concept was developed by the Sameni Entertainment Group (the same folks who brought you Wish Ultra Lounge and the nightclub Joyce Champagne Lounge) and Executive Chef Thompson. Brownstone’s warm, welcoming interiors were the vision of Hatsumi Kuzuu of Kuzuu Designs in collaboration with Matthew Giese.

We’re guessing that you’re probably a little intrigued (and a little hungry) at this point, so we’ve already pulled Brownstone’s number for you: 817.332.1555. Call and make your reservations today. You’ll need them!
